It's Finished!!!

I just finished revisions on my Book. Huzzah! Can you celebrate with me? No really. Get out of your chair and do a happy dance.

Even though this was technically my second draft, I basically rewrote the entire book. Twice. You should see my outtakes file. It's got a higher word count than my book. Guess I'm not one of those writers that pounds out a book in three months. I must be the other kind of writer, the one that actually has to work. Bummer.

Well for the most part, I'm pleased with my book.

Oh alright, I'm more than pleased but I'm a little superstitious so I don't want to say too much. Don't want to get too excited too soon. *throws salt over shoulder, knocks on wood and runs like a mad woman from approaching black cat*

I would still like to play with my last five chapters. I know I can make them much, much better but I think I need to take a few days and reflect, pat myself on the back, take a nap and do a happy dance. (Elaine dances so much like me it's scary.)

Because I know that I'm not finished with this very long process. But I am much closer now than I was yesterday and that makes me smile.

Hurray and Huzzah!

Congratulations Kristi!

And thanks for the smile this morning ~ watching Elaine dance always makes me feel better about myself, lol. If only because I, at least, have the good sense to only let my bad self out in private ;)

I'm very excited for you! Can't wait to read it!! I've read some bummer books lately (I think they were those authors that don't know how to work). Elaine's dancing is fab!

Congratulations! That is a huge achievement. I can't wait to read it!

Random aside: I just finished reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and now don't think there are people who easily do stuff, I think everyone works for it.

Even randomer: I have learned from my three-year-old that the most important part of dancing is to enjoy it.

Yay, Kristi! Good thing you are not afraid of a little hard work, or a lot. Just like Elaine isn't afraid to dance.

Time to celebrate....

Yay! Congratulations! Maybe we can go on a book tour together. Sounds like we are in about the same spot in this roller coaster of a process.

How are you going to go about publishing? Just wondering because I only have a half plan in the back of my mind :)

Congratulations!

I've been hiding from my revisions for over a month, which is stupid because I have a contract, but I'm battling with the part of myself that would like to believe that everything I write is just about perfect the first time. Revision is so much WORK.

I'm looking forward to an awesome read this week. So nice to finish a draft, huh? Soon you'll be published and I'll be able to say, "Yeah, and I knew Kristi BEFORE she was famous." My kids will fight over who gets to read the next Kristi Stevens book and I'll have to go out and buy multiple copies to keep the peace...
